- Syrup formulation for adults.
- Each 15 mL (1 tablespoon) contains approximately 15.4 mg of codeine.
How It Is Used
Neo-Codion Adults Syrup is used for the symptomatic treatment of bothersome dry, non-productive coughs (coughs without mucus) in adults.
Adult Dosage
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) per dose.
- May be repeated after 6 hours if needed.
- Do not exceed 4 doses per day.
- The maximum daily codeine dose should not exceed 120 mg per day.
Administration
- For oral use only.
- Take preferably when the cough occurs.
- Leave at least 6 hours between doses.
- Treatment is generally intended for short-term use (a few days).
Elderly Patients or Liver Impairment
- The initial dose is usually reduced by half and may be adjusted depending on tolerance and response
